NMSU to host Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities/U.S. Army University tours

About 800 local high school students will have the opportunity to spend a day on New Mexico State University?s campus this week. NMSU is hosting the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities/U.S. Army University Tours Monday, March 6, through Wednesday, March 8, and Friday, March 10.

Mostly freshmen through juniors from 24 area high schools will be on campus to learn about NMSU and college life. The program also includes a one-day visit for 50 high school counselors and pre-college advisers Thursday, March 9.

Test Anxiety: Above All, Do NOT Panic! workshop set for today

The Test Anxiety: Above All, Do NOT Panic! Workshop will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. today in the Zuhl Library Conference Room 225 (second floor).

Even when students are well prepared, at least 25 percent experience anxiety when taking tests. Students report forgetfulness, panic, fear of failure and more at the thought of a test. This workshop will help you learn to prepare for tests effectively and to combat test anxiety.

100 West Cafe serving Caribbean cuisine

Join us for a full week of lunches Tuesday, March 7, through Friday, March 10, for Caribbean-themed cuisine where you can enjoy meals prepared by our HRTM 363 students under the direction of chef John Hartley.

Enjoy four days of a la carte lunch from 12 to 1 p.m. The menu for the week will be your choice of Caribbean potato soup, green salad with pineapple, orange and honey lime dressing or Caribbean slaw. The main entrée choices are grilled jerk chicken, roasted pork with pineapple avocado salsa, Caribbean fish curry or Bajan pie. The sides for this week are Jamaican rice and peas. Your dessert choices are Grenadian spice cake, coconut pudding or cornmeal pone. All lunches are $10 payable by cash, check or credit card. We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit cards for your convenience. We look forward to having you for lunch and appreciate your support.

The HRTM 363 students are looking forward to serving you. Gift cards are available for sale in Gerald Thomas Hall, Room 138, in $10 increments. They are a great idea for any occasion and do not expire until 2020.

It?s not really Tuesday without a taco

You can?t properly enjoy Tuesday without celebrating Taco Tuesday. To help you celebrate, Taos Restaurant, NMSU?s dining hall in Corbett Center, will serve made-to-order tacos and taco salads, including a full toppings bar, on Tuesdays for lunch and dinner. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs one meal plan swipe or $8.50 plus tax. Dinner is served from 5 to 8 p.m. and costs one meal plan swipe or $8.75 plus tax.

Red to Green Financial Wellness Workshop set for today, Thursday

A Red to Green Financial Wellness Workshop ? Keys to Saving and Investing ? will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. today at Domenici Hall, Room 005.

What?s the difference between saving and investing? Why should I save? How can I invest? We?ll answer all these questions and more. Learn what you can do now to help your future self by saving and investing wisely.

Budgets Aren?t Just for Your Parents will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at Domenici Hall, Room 005.

Do you like the idea of budgeting, but just can?t seem to stick to one? Come check out Red to Green Money Management?s workshop on how to create, maintain and succeed at your budgeting endeavors.

Employment Extravaganza is Wednesday

New Mexico State University's 13th annual Employment Extravaganza will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the Corbett Center Student Union, first floor and Aggie Lounge.

The 13th annual Employment Extravaganza is a one-day career fair coordinated by Career Services.

Employment Extravaganza is open to interested students at all NMSU campuses, community members and guests. Professional/business attire and resumes are highly recommended.

Learn about current employment opportunities including full-time employment, Cooperative Education, internships and summer employment positions. Red to Green Financial Wellness Scholarship Navigation will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 14.

Did you know there are hundreds and thousands of private scholarships giving away millions of dollars to students just like you? Drop by anytime during our scheduled event, no appointment required at Garcia Annex, Room 224. One-on-one coaching will be available with Peer Financial Wellness Coaches from the Red to Green Financial Wellness Program to help you navigate scholarship sites they recommend such as Zinch, FastWeb, The College Board and Unigo.

The peer coaches have tested these sites and will help you with creating your profile so you too will have access to many scholarships that match your background and skills. You can pay off student debt, and pay for school with these private scholarships just waiting to be claimed.

Poolside Buti Yoga With Ceara Caisido March 17

Come join us for a live poolside Buti Yoga class led by instructor Ceara Caisido from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saint Patrick's Day, Friday, March 17. Wear your yoga clothes or a swimsuit to kick start that tan line and be ready to sweat, shake and stomp with intention. This event is free for AggieFit members or $10 for non-AggieFit members.
