Employee Council meeting will be held Aug. 13

The next meeting of the NMSU Employee Council is set for 2:30 p.m. Aug. 13, in Milton Hall Room 85. In addition to reports from representatives on university committees, the agenda includes Darlene Nelson discussing the efforts of the University Advancement office, and consideration of Council bylaw revisions.

Meetings are always open to all employees in person or online via Adobe Connect at http://nmsu.adobeconnect.com/employeecouncil2014 .

NMSU community invited to fall convocation

The NMSU community is invited to celebrate the start of the fall 2015 semester at convocation from 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 18, in the ASNMSU Center for the Arts. At convocation, they will recognize outstanding faculty through the Westhafer Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Patricia Christmore for junior tenure-track faculty members for excellence in teaching. Faculty and staff advisers also will be recognized with the Excellence in Academic Advising Award.

Refreshments will be served from 8:15 until 9 a.m. in the lobby of the Center. Convocation will be webcasted for those individuals that are located at the off campus sites and the community colleges.

The fall 2015 customized training brochure is now available. Looking to brush up on your business Spanish? Want to learn the basics of computers, MS Excel, Word or Outlook, or about your iPad? Need help dealing with difficult co-workers or customers or dealing with office issues?

These courses and many more are available this fall through the One Stop Training Shop at DACC Customized Training. All courses can be viewed at http://dacc.nmsu.edu/ctp/. Lots of new offerings this semester.
