NMSU-A celebrates Crimson Day Oct. 28

Date: 11/09/2010

Thursday, Oct. 28 was perfect weather for NMSU-A's sixth annual Crimson Day, a campus celebration to declare, "We are Aggies, too!"

NMSU cheerleaders helped the Alamogordo campus celebrate Crimson Day.

The air was full of music, laughter and cheers, led by the NMSU cheerleaders and Pistol Pete himself, to support the Aggies' Saturday Homecoming football contest. Students, faculty and staff enjoyed free pizza and soft drinks while testing their skill at Twister, hula-hoops, football toss, limbo and other events.

The Crimson Day finale was the "Toast to the Aggies," led by Joyce Hill, division head of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education at NMSU-A. Everyone lifted a cup of crimson punch and wished good fortune to the NMSU Aggies for Saturday's contest with the San Jose State Spartans. Good fortune did smile Saturday afternoon: The Aggies beat the Spartans 29-27.
