Spring 2013 commencement ceremonies are set

An estimated 3,133 students are candidates for degrees and about 1,600 will take part in New Mexico State University's spring 2013 commencement ceremonies. Those numbers include more than 2,000 associate, bachelor's and graduate degrees from NMSU's Las Cruces campus and more than 900 associate degrees from NMSU's community colleges.

The ceremonies for the Las Cruces campus will take place Saturday, May 11, at the Pan American Center. The morning ceremony will start at 9 a.m. for undergraduate and graduate candidates receiving degrees from the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences; the College of Education; the College of Engineering; and the College of Health and Social Services. The afternoon ceremony will start at 2 p.m. for undergraduate and graduate candidates receiving degrees from the College of Arts and Sciences; the College of Business; and the College of Extended Learning.

The Las Cruces campus commencement ceremonies will also be broadcast live, over the Internet, for friends and family who cannot attend the ceremony in person. To watch the broadcast, or more information about commencement, visit commencement.nmsu.edu.

The ceremony for NMSU's Dona Ana Community College will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at the Pan American Center. Candidates for an associate degree, certificate of completion and GED will be recognized. This ceremony will include fall 2012, spring 2013 and summer 2013 graduates.

The Thirty-Sixth Annual NMSU Alamogordo graduation ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, May 10 at the Tays Center. NMSU Grants will hold its graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. May 10 at the Fidel Activities Center. NMSU Carlsbad will hold its ceremony at 7 p.m. on May 10.
