Date: 04/23/2012

A knitted yarn ribbon is seen making its way across campus near Milton Hall Wednesday, April 18, 2012. The ribbon is part of "heARTlines," an art project in which NMSU faculty, students and community members worked together to knit over 3,000 feet of yarn veins.

"The plan is to 'yarn bomb' the campus with knitted 'heART lines' that reach from the 'heart' of the art building to all areas of the university," said Stephanie Taylor, an assistant professor in the NMSU art department.

The two-part public art project aims to highlight the role the arts plays in the campus and surrounding communities while building strong ties with the more than 100 students, faculty, staff and community members who helped make the event possible.
